My Pension Online

Your step-by-step registration process

This guide will help you register for the Member Self Service Pension Portal. It applies if we already have your email address on file from a previous registration attempt.

✅ What You’ll Need Before You Start

Have the following ready:

  • Your surname (as it appears in our records)
  • Your National Insurance number
  • Your date of birth (DD/MM/YYYY format)
  • A modern web browser (e.g., Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari)
  • Access to your email inbox

📌 Tip: For the best experience, we recommend using a desktop, laptop, or modern smartphone.

🖥️ Step-by-Step Registration

🔹 Step 1: Go to the Login Page

Visit:
 👉 Login – altair Member Self–Service

Click “Create an account” below the login boxes.

🔹 Step 2: Accept Data Use Terms

Scroll down to find the “Use of personal data” section.

  • Tick the box: “I understand this website uses my personal data.”
  • Click “Let’s begin”

🔹 Step 3: Confirm Your Personal Details

Enter your:

  • Surname
  • Date of birth (DD/MM/YYYY)
  • National Insurance number

Click “Submit”

🔍 What Happens Next?

The system checks if your details match our records. One of two things will happen:

  • ✅ If we do have your email address → continue to password setup
  • ❌ If we don’t have your email → this guide doesn’t apply. Please contact us (see Support Details below).

✅ Continue Registration (Email Found)

🔹 Step 4: Check Your Email

You’ll get an email with:

  • A link to set a new password

📌 Didn’t get the email?

  • Check your junk/spam folder
  • If still missing, try again or contact us

🔹 Step 5: Set a Secure Password

Click the link from the email. You’ll land on the “Set New Password” page.

Your password must include:

  • At least 8 characters
  • 1 uppercase letter (A–Z)
  • 1 lowercase letter (a–z)
  • 1 number (0–9)
  • 1 special character (e.g., !, %, $, &)

✅ Tip: Use a strong passphrase, like RiverBlue!Apple92.

🔹 Step 6: Set Up Two-Step Authentication

  • Please confirm the mobile phone number you would like to use for verification.
  • You’ll receive a 6-digit code by SMS text.
  • Enter the code on the screen
  • Click “Verify” or “Continue”

🔹 Step 7: You’re In!

After verifying the code, you’ll be taken to your account dashboard.

  • You don’t have access to the email we have on file
  • You’re getting error messages during registration

Yes! The portal works on most modern smartphones and tablets.

 For smoother navigation, rotate your phone to landscape mode.

💡 Final Tips

  • Write down your password and keep it in a safe place.
  • Your e-mail address is your username.
  • Bookmark the login page for quick access next time.
  • Set up email filters to ensure messages from the portal go to your inbox.
